Who is the Interviewee?
For my engagement interview, I had the pleasure of interviewing Ms. Clair O Bowen Who is one of the original founding members of Team Leader Solutions which has locations in Atlanta, San Diego and Banner Elk. Ms. Bowen has practically been an entrepreneur throughout her entire career span. When she initially graduated from The University of Georgia with a B.S ED. in English she worked for a company where she was the Manager of Training and Development for approximately five years.
It was during this time that Ms. Bowen realized she did not want to be stuck in a career when she had little say in what her schedule was, and how to operate tasks at hand; she also saw areas that she could improve if she were in charge. Which is why she took a leap of faith and decided to open her own company, with a three way partnership. The experiences and roles throughout Ms. Bowens career that she felt helped prepare her most for her current role, are her time spent in Human Resources for a company in Nashville and being the training director for a bank branch system.

I interviewed Dr. Nora Reilly who works at Radford University in the Psychology department on March 2, 2016. I had a class with Dr. Reilly last semester in industrial/organizational psychology. I interviewed Dr. Reilly in her office in Russell hall, which was a little disorganized with her packing her things for the move to the new building. She was wearing a pantsuit like she typically does and her hair is short and gray. I thought she would be an interesting person to interview because she is not the “typical” female.…

“Climbing The Golden Arches” is an essay written by Marissa Nuñez published originally in New Youth Connections, republished in The Norton Sampler. The main idea of this essay is that although the road to a successful career is fraught with hardships, it can be overcome with hard work and determination. At the beginning of the essay, Nuñez describes a scene in which she and her cousin went to eat at McDonald’s and decided to try out for a job there out of curiosity. They filed their applications and about a month later had their job interviews in which both passed. The author was initially surprised to receive the job but that turned into happiness when she realized that she no longer would have to depend on her mother for money anymore.…
