I like and agree with this quote because Abraham Lincoln said it during the Civil War. Our nation was at war with itself. America is strong with resources, wealth, defense and would be difficult for another country to destroy it. The greatest of America is the diversity of its ideas and peoples. Along with this comes opinions, moral and ethical standards and cultures, which causes disagreements. America will more likely be destroyed by its own people because they cannot agree how to exist together. I thought how long can America pretend we are the same country that believed at one time, “Gave me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath free” (Engraved on the Statue of Liberty).
