The standard way of thinking about the Civil War is that it divided many people into groups on ideas of the government. Common sense seems to dictate that slavery was a big division between the North and South. It is often said by many that the North and the South started having a different perspective on what was right and what was wrong. The North and South came to such different views of slavery in the years prior to the Civil War because the North believed it was an evil act , the South saw it as a good act and South also believed it would help them financially.
