News got around and black people started boycotting buses (Rosa Parks). For a while every black person in Alabama walked everywhere they went; they did not take a bus. However, Park’s was arrested and was put in jail. She did something that would change the whole United States, she was a hero in the eyes of some people; but, in most peoples eyes she was a criminal. If Parks would not have stood up for what she thought was right, there is no telling where this country would be today without just that little act of disobedience. In a document she says “The only tired I was, was tired of giving in.” She inspired a lot of people by just one act and she also encouraged people to stand up in what they believe in. Some of us were inspired from afar, while others proudly met Parks and worked alongside her in the struggle for equal rights. For many, it was an experience so unforgettable that it even made its way into their obituaries. Today, we honor Rosa Parks by meeting some of the people whose lives she forever changed (Crowther). Though she wrote books and did speaking engagements, she donated most of her money to civil rights causes and never became wealthy
