As a civil attorney’s main job is to help their clients reach a settlement with another party, the ability to talk well and negotiate terms are key qualities that attorneys must have. However, a strong desire for the dealing of justice is another requirement, as noted by law career research company LawyerEdu. “Often… attorneys enter the field because they are passionate about justice for a particular people group or issue,” LawyerEdu states in an article covering the various requirements of a career in a subsection of civil law ("Civil Rights Attorney Career"). A career in civil litigation is all about the appropriate dealing of justice. Starting attorneys must be determined to grant justice for the particular field(s) that they specialize in, such as probate, divorce, and intellectual property. This strong desire to ensure that everyone is treated fairly is a necessary requirement for all civil litigation attorneys. Civil litigation attorneys must also have many educational requirements in order to be successful, including a specialized juris doctorate degree from certified law schools and a passing score on the bar exam. While watching this movie I was really paying attention to the way the different attorney’s acted when approaching the case at hand. The first attorney I’ll start with is Michael Clayton, though Clayton isn’t on the litigation team he plays a key role in the film. Clayton is what is known as a “fixer” in the world of law, his job is to clean up the messes for the law firm he works for. Throughout the movie Clayton refers himself as the “janitor,” since he has to make sure that Arthur Edens stays on track with his current case. Now since I’ve already mentioned him, next we will talk about Arthur Edens, Edens is a senior litigation partner in the film as well as a good friend of Clayton and Marty Bach.…
