One example of people showing civil disobedience and not following a law is the Salt March. Basically the Salt March is a protest against a British rule in India that makes it so the people in India cannot sell salt or even make it according to Britannica.com (Salt March Indian History”). The British laws wouldn’t let the Indians sell or make so they had to buy very expensive salt that had big taxes on it. That had a big effect on the population because they couldn’t afford to buy that expensive of salt. Then the protests started in the 19 century and one particular person decided to take a stand so he wouldn’t have to pay for the expensive salt. Gandhi was the name of the man who put up a stand and started a march so he and everybody else didn’t have to pay for expensive salt. On one of the days they were on the march Gandhi and all of his followers decided to break the law and pick up salt from the ocean, and for a couple months after that Indians kept getting salt from the ocean and breaking the law. But, around 60,000 of the people who were on the march ended up in jail. This example of the Salt March shows how if people think a law is unjust that they will show civil disobedience and not follow the law and in this case the citizens of India break it. So, if someone doesn’t believe in a law they won’t follow
