Laws are thoroughly thought out, planned, and executed by the elected officials of the United States government. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus and eventually helped to win rights for her race. Thousands of people protested the election of Donald Trump and got nowhere. Donald J. Trump will be President of the United States, and all the protestors did was shut down multiple highways and inconvenience thousands of other people. Peaceful protesting is an acceptable action to take when a change is needed. Civil disobedience is not always acceptable, especially when it does more harm than good, but it is a right of every American citizen. People will continue to protest issues they find troubling, but only when a positive outcome is possible will the protests be peaceful once again. When a cause worth fighting for comes up again, the people will bang together to protect their beliefs. It is only when a positive change is needed that civil disobedience will once again be the right action to
