There can be no law to which obedience is optional, no command to which the state attaches an "if you please."(Civil Disobedience: A Threat to Our Society) but if we went by that how would we change laws that are unfair. Do people just wait until someone decides that it's time to change the law? Do we just try to bear it and see if it helps us in long run? Actions like this help no one and fixes nothing. Not only that but it also defeats the point of governments as they need the people to exist, so why should the people not give them feedback about their actions? Feedback helps gauge who well something is being done. There is nothing to powerful or to good to be beyond receiving feedback. Nor do the people expect to not be punished by the law so they are not given the right to break the law. Some might also ask whats the point of doing this. I say that even if nothing comes out of it the people have still sent a message and maybe this message can give more the power to let their voice be heard. A few voices may be weak but many voices must be heard and if they are not heard then they will only grow louder. Sooner or later a point will be reached where they must be addressed. Never really is a point where truly nothing is achieved, something will always come out of it.
In the end civil disobedience is the people best way to bring about change. It is shows that people can bring change without violence. It spreads the words of protest in an easy to understand and agree with way. There is no way that this does not have a positive impact on
