My project tried to understand motivation found by young people to engage in civic interest as well as finding the benefits obtained from it and their impact on future civic interest. I had three central research questions to my project. Firstly, what motivates young people to be civically engaged? Secondly, what are the benefits gained from civic engagement? Well, they were both more confident of their skills, may they be writing or communicating better, and they became more objective. Finally, can prior civic engagement impact their future interest in civic activities?
