Practice makes perfect as everyone has heard this saying before. In the future, I plan on practicing my speeches more by speaking in front of a mirror over and over again to give myself the impression of what I look like when speaking in front of a group of people. Practicing in front of a mirror over and over again will also help me memorize my speech more instead of relying on my note card as often, giving me more confidence while speaking. I tend to use my note card as a comforting thing when I get nervous and forget what I am about to say. Democracy is “a system of government by the whole population” (Democracy). This is referring to everyone in society, not only the elderly in our communities, but young adults included. While most young adults in America attend college, the majority is in a stage where they are away from home finding independence, but are still free of worries and certain aspects of responsibility.
