Just a few years ago, my dad would always tell me stories about when he turned 18 years old. He would tell me that in the near future I would have to start paying taxes, sign up for the selective service, and have to learn how to cooperate with everyone in the work field that I wish to pursue. I think to myself “How will continuing my education prepare me to discharge my civic duty to my community and my country?”

I have experienced myself going through different stages in my life. Once I head off to college, many new opportunities will open up to me.
