With Arjun Singh taking over as CEO of City Shuttle Inc., there are several issues with the management of human resources that he should know about. These issues include: drivers being unsupported by management after falling victim to assault, an unfair compensation system by management to drivers, a reduced number of bookings for female and racialized drivers, along with unethical hours given to drivers. These issues cause several complaints by the drivers, and results in decisions such as quitting their jobs. This is not an acceptable form of behaviour by management and serious immediate action needs to be taken to ensure that the employees feel more comfortable in their work environment. The reason to this was due to the lack of consistent hours resulting in it not being a reliable source of income. As it is a on call job. Workers also were faced with “times when drivers report most inappropriate/harassing behaviours from customers.”(Lamb, 2017, pg. 3). Another problem was that a large portion of drivers reportedly were sleep deprived. Which is a huge hazard for employees as being sleep deprived can result in life threatening injuries or even in the worst case death. City Shuttle Inc. does a poor job for designing the job, as during the the job analysis process, management needs to take into account many factors when creating the jobs. One of the main steps in the job analysis process that is not being followed is to communicate and update information as needed. Where you speak with stakeholders related to the job and update any missing information. With City Shuttle Inc. not taking this step, it doesn’t provide sufficient information for prospects. Many employees may be deceived as they don’t all the negatives that comes with the job. In order to negate these problems and maintain their positive relationships with their employees and customers, the CEO Arjun Singh must take action to change his business structure of the company and truly start planning for where he wants his company to be in the
