City Of Praise

The Impact that has been made City of Praise; my church, my home, and my hospital. City of praise has impacted my life tremendously, and I can honestly say that I've enjoyed every bit of it. Growing up in the church was a normal thing for me since I was basically "born and raised in the pew" but for me to actually start living a truly Christian life was the task at hand for me. Years went by with our apostle Dr. Walter Boston and I always wondered "why?" Why did I have to come to church? Why do we need to take an offering for Jesus? And how can Jesus get the offering? As I got older I started to realize that I wanted more of Jesus, I wanted the Holy Ghost, I wanted the anointing even though I never did anything to get those gifts. Years later went by and I was basically at a standstill with life and with trying to figure out my purpose in life; as many of you know I never said much in church and I'm still like that now until a mic gets in my hand! Receiving Pastor Hurdle as our new leader was a big step for all of us but I knew he was different; I knew that he cared for everyone even though he was a firm believer in …show more content…
Let me clarify what I'm talking about; I was 12 years old when I began to sing in the church and I never knew I could sing but because my pastor and mother scared me at the time and because I wanted to test my faith I got on stage and sang a song in front of the church and the outcome was great! After I took that leap of faith nothing could hold me back and I wasn't letting anything keep me from doing what I put my mind to. Since then I have become a better vocalist, songwriter, and finishing up my album. To add things on to my crazy faith that my church has; I will be attending my dream college which is 12 hours away and though I will miss home and my church family and friends I will be making Jesus's name

Everyone we ever encounter has a passion for something in their life, whether they're are open about it or not. It can be crotchet, sports, reading, or, one of the most popular passions, music. We can't help but share it with whomever we come into contact with. Just being able to share your passion and having those you care about experience it with you is such an amazing thing to witness. Our walk as Christians should be just like sharing our passions, except in this case, the gospel is our passion.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

It’s very strange how one experience or choice you make in your life can change the rest of your life that follows that event, would you then in turn change these decisions you made. Such as your what if your mom conceived you not on the knowing basis. What if everyone was telling her not to because she was to be a single mom and that’s not a world a child should be born into, but then what if she challenged this belief that she grew up with. This then in turn affected all her choices later in life, but then vice versa what if she didn't challenge this belief and stuck with what she knew. This may be of the more extreme choices in life that some people must make but we all have that certain time in our life that comes where we must break away and make…

I remember going to the Greater Allan Cathedral when I was a younger teen. I started going there with my family every Sunday to the churches 8:30 a.m. service. Or, if we woke up early enough, the 6:15 a.m. My Father made sure we went to church every Sunday. He cut our hair every Saturday morning so we were sharp, and ready to receive the word from Pastor Floyd H. Flake and his wife, Elaine Flake.…

I inspire to be many things, mainly having a philosophy of serving others in the field of health care, I believe we should form a symbiotic relationship as professional health provider, making it our obligation to not only understand the symptom but the social effects and developing possible cure; supporting and strengthening our existing institution while providing a better quality of life. I acquire these values nearly three decades ago, where I had the opportunity to volunteer in my community at the local church on Staten Island. As you know the church can serve a community in many special and unique ways, from tutoring the youth, to transitioning young adults into first time parenthood, as well as, assisting the community with entitlement programs. One of the major anxieties and financial struggles in my community were families managing a loved one with multiple-infirmities. This is when I began to see the church as much more than a place…

Thank you so much for your post and your honesty. I was saved at a very young age, I remember having an active prayer life but like yourself, I felt like I had no identity. For many years even after my life of service to Him began I felt as though my past could never warrant a life of ministering to others. It was not until God opened my eyes to His true love for me that I began to realize who I am in Him. At times when I fail, the enemy still attempts to confuse my mind in this area.…
