The passages, “An Amazing Day at the Aquarium” and “My Trip to the City Aquarium” describe two different students taking a trip to the City Aquarium. Even though the students visited the same aquarium, they both had different experiences. Both passages have similarities and differences. The student in the passage, “An Amazing Day at the Aquarium,” was both excited and interested in visiting the aquarium. In paragraph 2, the student states that he dreamed of being a marine biologist when he was little and that he/she was always interested in all things aquatic. The student used adjectives such as fascinating, vibrant, and gigantic in lines 9-14. In paragraph 7, the student states, “I learned so much more about marine life,” meaning that the student’s prior knowledge and interest helped improve the student’s knowledge on marine life after his visit to the City Aquarium. This evidence exemplifies the student’s appreciation and fascination towards the aquarium visit. Based on the passage, the overall tone is interest/excitement. …show more content…
