It would be recognizing that we live in a world where our right to privacy, our human liberty and dignity, is being violated. It would be easier to just shrug it off. To call it a hoax and ignore the issue. But we as a society can’t. Snowden had no vicious motives, in fact, you can see that he had more to lose than to win. So why would he be lying? Some may argue that he did it for fame, but it’s unlikely. Why risk everything for something you’re not passionate about? He risked his life to let us all know the truth. The hard truth no one, not even our so called transparent leaders, could tell us.
This all brings us to some big questions. Is the price of safety really the loss of privacy? They are forcing us to choose one right over the other. Fundamental suddenly became negotiable, and the scariest part is that it will continue that way. Our kids won’t know a second privacy, their lives will be monitored from the instant they are brought into this world. And this brings the second question, what does this mean for the future of mankind? Will we have people like Snowden in the future, who continue to fight for our rights? But, is a world where privacy and liberty don’t exist, one worth fighting
