To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect and I had to watch it three times to really understand what was happening and I had to rewind to certain clips to understand what something meant. I wasn’t very interested in the beginning but when Kane got married to his second wife I kind of felt like I could relate to her, which is why when we were having a discussion about her being naggy towards him and wanting materialistic things- it’s not really about him getting her diamonds or bracelets, she just wanted something sentimental so she could feel important to him. There were many things that people thought she could have wanted, like she wanted to have his child or she wanted diamonds and jewelry. I feel like she just wanted some affection from him. She wanted to mean something to him. She wasn’t very impressed with her life either. They were so wealthy and had so much money to spend on whatever it was they wanted, yet, they were sitting at home surrounded by statues collecting dust and jigsaw puzzles waiting to be put together. Another thing that made me think differently is her being obsessed with jigsaw puzzles. Maybe she wasn’t so interested in them but in trying to figure out her husband and understand what kind of person he is and why he does the things the way he does. Also, the snow globe seems like it meant something. It kept popping up in some scenes which had me thinking it was more than just a snow globe, like Rosebud.
