In the movie Citizen Kane made May 1, 1941, Orson Welles depicted the American dream. Based on the mood, tone, and camera angle of Citizen Kane, Orson Welles depicted the American dream as people would rather give up their family and be hated by people closest to them to be famous and to make money.
The mood of the movie is effected greatly by the lighting. In the first scene it was very dark. The movie showed Kane laying on his death bed. The darkness represented Kane’s loneliness and that no one gave much care about him due to the things he did in the past. After that the movie lightened up. But still Kane was always in the dark. In the scene where he was in the opera house: it was very bright. But he sat in the dark where it was hard for people to see him. Kane was always alone. Kane always wanted to be loved by everyone but not give them any love.
Music in Citizen Kane effected the tone of the story. At the beginning of the movie the music was a dark scary tone because Kane was dying. Kane didn’t have a good death. Citizen Kane was a movie that I was a little confused in at first. When the television real started I did not know what to expect. However, I enjoyed the movie once I started to gain an understanding on it. This movie was one that showed the life change of the kid and how he lived his life the way that his caretaker had lived his. He hated that life style so it was very ironic in the sense that he did everything that the one who took him away from his parents did.…

It is no small statement, yet at the same time no stretch, that the Great Gatsby and Citizen Kane can be the undisputed kings of their respectful American media; less so for their stature (which is monumental but in the case of the Great Gatsby, not totally dominant) in their media but rather for their nature as masterful depictions of a quintessentially American theme. This is prevalent in both, with similar characters Gatsby and Kane embodying this quintessential American persona, this idealist, striving for something he has never known. In art of cinematography that both are excellent; Citizen Kane…

Throughout the film there were multiple jump cuts. This is good to use in a film because it doesn't waste time, and it just gets to the point so the audience does not get board. An example of a jump cut in the movie is when Indy’s is at Marions bar and it had just exploded and she decides to go on the trip with Indy until she gets enough money to restore the bar. So it jump cuts when she says Indy you got a new Partner. And then it cuts to showing an airplane with a map in the background.…
