In Julius Caesar, by Shakespeare, the true hero lies not within Caesar or Cassius, but Brutus. When looking at these characters more closely it's obvious that Brutus is the real, but a tragic hero because Brutus had heroic qualities and died because of it. This is shown many times throughout the play. It is shown in every act of every scene and shows Caesars true honor and nobility. Anybody who has read Julius Caesar knows tat he was ambitious and the reason that Brutus killed his best friend was for the good of Rome and not himself.…

Truthfully power and powerlessness both corrupt, but in my eyes it’s the desire for power that corrupts more, as it is what corrupts the powerless in the beginning. We have a plethora of examples where those in power become dishonest, greedy, and overpowered by the same power they cling to. While it’s a pessimistic viewpoint, I believe given enough time, anyone in power would digress to a corrupt form. As Lord Acton put it, “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely”, meaning there is potential for the powerlessness to stray onto a crooked path, but those who have power will without a doubt, fall. Julius Caesar and Brutus are excellent examples of the powerful and powerless intertwining.…
Caesar is a great leader because he cares about his subjects. During Caesar’s funeral oration, Mark Antony talks about Caesar’s care for those he rules. Antony describes Caesar as caring about everyone, not just the rich and powerful. Antony says, “ When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept.” Antony explains that Caesar is compassionate and commiserates even with those who have less.…

I represent the personality, consul according to the responses I provided when I took the personality test. A consul has the traits of leadership and supporting others. They also do not enjoy discussing politics or academic discoveries, they are more focused on their appearances and their connections and relationships with others, however, Consuls do enjoy discussing rumors, but they would rather put their skills to a positive use and not to a negative one. Consuls enjoy being in command both at their job and at home. A consul seems to enjoy being in power, yet at the same time supporting others, and having the favor from others.…
Throughout the span of history, the words honor and honorable are often used to describe a person’s superior standing and their chivalrous deeds. As honor is such a fundamental characteristic of a man’s vigorous identity, men would make an excessive effort to prevent their loss of honor. In both modern and traditional literature, honor is used as a theme to capture the integrity shown by these people. British anthropologist Julian Pitt-Rivers once describe honor in his book Honour and Shame as “the value of a person in his own eyes, but also in the eyes of his society. It is his estimation of his own worth, his claim to pride, but it is also the acknowledgment of that claim, his excellence recognized by society, his right to pride.”…

The acclaimed play written by William Shakespeare,The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, should go by another name, The Tragedy of Brutus. Brutus is the main character and hidden protagonist, he is a senate member scarred by Ceaser rising so quickly to kingdom. Julius Caesar’s life was filled with extraordinary and unimaginable feats, influenced by the ideals of his upbringing and a natural talent for military strategy. From birth, Caesar was raised in a family full of untraditional values who believed in the Populare ideologies of equalizing the poor. In an unforeseen turn of event, Caesar eventually became Dictator Perpetuus and was in a position to turn these beliefs into policy. In contrast to his benevolent nature, he was also ruthless, as demonstrated by the pursuit and execution of the pirate captors who he had befriended. In a juxtaposition of actions he orders the death of these men to somehow restore honor to his name and family, yet did them the ‘courtesy’ if called that, of slitting…
In William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, Marcus Brutus is a powerful yet easily persuaded character whose distinct traits make him the tragic hero of the play. A tragic hero is a literary character that makes grave errors of judgment or has a fatal flaw that leads to their own demise. This description fits Brutus perfectly as he makes awful decisions throughout the story and is seriously flawed by his naïveté. However, Brutus still possesses the trait all tragic heroes must have: nobility. However, despite his good nature, his errors of judgment and naïve character conclude in his own suicide at the end of the…
