This book reminded me that I am not alone or the only person in America that experiences discrimination daily through microaggressions. After reading this book I feel encouraged to speak up for myself or anyone else that is being discriminated against. Some people do not know that their words are hurtful or until you speak up. I feel like I am still on level 5 of the cultural proficiency continuum which is cultural competence. On the cultural proficiency continuum, I strive to be culturally proficient which is level 6 of the continuum. I believe once I begin my career I will be able to be culturally
