Relevance: Relevance shows the importance of the brand to the market. This means how important “CITIZEN” is to the market. Customers will want to purchase CITIZEN watch as their watches are not very pricey and not only do not need a battery to function, they also provide good customer service such that they provides various initiatives catered to help improve the quality of operations. This includes after-sales service as well as explainning the product features in terms of quality, functionality and design to customers. This make customers feel satisfied and that CITIZEN watches are worth buying for.
Esteem: CITIZEN builds a high esteem for their company. CITIZEN should base their price on the customer’s perceived value by using the perceived value pricing method. The success to perceived value price is to deliver more value than the competitor and to demonstrate this to their potential buyers. Even though traditional watches cannot be compared based on the functionalities of smart watches such as the internet capabilities, health applications, access control, payments and travel, however, they have other values that are worth buying for. Firstly, they have built up a long-term branding that almost everyone knows. Customers know CITIZEN watches cater to everyone as their mission is to serve all citizens in the world. Smart watch cater more for youngsters but there is still a pool of buyer who will buy CITIZEN watches as they are buying a brand that they know for long and think is better.
