Often times, students who are beginning the college application process find it difficult to maintain a balance between the work which is necessary for their traditional high school coursework and that which is necessary to become an applicant and eventually a student of a college or university. The vast majority of students likely submit applications to multiple school during the admission process, and in some cases they truly may not have an idea which of these schools they hold a preference for. In these instances, it adds a far greater amount of stress on the said student if they feel as though they are being pressured into making their final decision regarding their prefered school. My mother was an excellent example of someone who holds this patience. When I began the admissions process, I applied and got accepted at seven different colleges and universities. Until the time of writing this scholarship application, I was at a lost as to which school I should attend. While others whom I encountered would seek an immediate answer to the all important question of which school I would be attending, never once did my mother attempt to receive an answer, but rather, she patiently waited for me to provide the answer as I made the decision.
Given these two examples, it becomes more and more clear to me that of all those individuals who were able to benefit my college admissions process, my mother alone had the greatest positive
