Cinderella's Diary has taught me that poetry can be created out of any content, the author just needs to be a little creative with word choice and the have a poem! The author adapts the famous story into a poem by saying
“I miss my stepmother… the queen calling me to look at another painting of her son,this time holding the transparent slipper I wish i’d never seen.”

In the story Cinderella we are shown that life is perfect for her in every way possible; but in her diary we can see that things didn’t go so well after the movie ended. In the poem she writes in her diary

This poem is a sequel to the movie. But instead of it being a positive sequel things take a turn and we get to know her true feelings. Cinderella wishes her past had not happened so she would be in the castle this present day. The queen is in love with her son and all she does is praise her son and has painting but this time is is a painting with Cinderella’s slipper and she isn’t happy about this.
Looking back at the many things I learned and read about Cinderella’s Diary I really have fallen in love with “Cinderella's Diary” by Ron Koertge. Ever since I read this poem the first night that we had homework in our Poetry Speaks book, I read it frequently during my spare time I hope I will come across other poems that continue the the stories that I cherished from my
