Cinderella Vs Ashputtle

There are many differences between Cinderella and Ashputtle but there are also similarities. There was the glass slipper and the evil stepsisters/ stepmother. But the movie has big differences then the original story. For example the way she got the dress, how the stepsister tried the shoe on, where she slept etc. If the movie were to be exactly like the story than kids around the world would not be allowed to watch the film. It might have been a good thing that they made changes. Cinderella got her dress when she was crying in front of the tree. Cinderella was saying she didn’t believe until her fairy godmother showed up and helped her out. The fairy godmother granted her wish and gave her the dress and slippers along with a carriage with four horses. But in the Grimm story Ashputtle had gotten her dress by wishing for one at her mother's grave where a tree has grown on it. A bird dropped down a …show more content…
In both stories, the slipper played a huge roll. From the prince finding the slipper to how he found Cinderella and Ashputtle, the stories wouldn’t be the same with the slipper. Another similarity was the stepsisters/ stepmother. In Cinderella the stepsisters are these snotty girls that make Cinderella do all the chores and the stepmother allows this to happen, The stepmother also treats her this way and making her life miserable. It's the same for Ashputtle with the sisters and stepmother adding chores to the original chores just so she couldn’t go to the ball. Both of these stories are unique in their own way. With the Brothers Grimm version being gory and CInderella being a happier tone with no gore, except for the cat. The differences aren’t the biggest thing in the world but Cinderella kept some important parts that changed how both stories would end. Then they left parts that weren’t important but were part of the original story. In the end, both stories are the same but have parts unique to
