Cinderella Man Paper During the Great Depression times were hard for lots of people. James J. Braddock started off with a wonderful life being rich, having a wonderful family, and a beautiful home. Once the depression hit everything changed. They lost the house and started living in an old basement with barely anything to live on. During these tough times James J. Braddock remained a great man and a huge inspiration to many people for many reasons. During this time he remained a great father and did everything he could to keep his family well. To start off he was a great boxer, but soon to get in an accident brake his hand. Jim isn’t doing well and is fighting on an empty stomach because he can’t eat. He is injured and the boxing commissioner takes away his licenses of being a fighter and their money source is gone. One example of being a great father was that he would give up his food for his kids when they were hungry. He told his daughter that he had a dream the night before about a huge steak and some ice cream and that it made him to full to eat his piece of ham. He would do whatever it took to put his family first. James J. Braddock would maintain his values. Now that he’s back into fighting he is very thankful for getting a second chance. He was very funny man and knew what he was fighting for, his family. James didn’t want to fight for the fame; he wanted to fight for his family. After all the fights there’s one more person he can fight, Max Baer. Max Baer is someone that has killed two people in the ring but James is still willing to fight for his family. James is put in the newspaper about being a huge inspiration to everyone.
