Tobacco introduced itself as a “saving grace” to early European settlers, and now invokes “super hero” status “the stuff Americas made of” as described in the article The Cigarette's Powerful Cultural Allure. As Americans we are a culture of movie watchers, story tellers, and day dreamers. So when our favorite character in a movie smokes or our most memorable fairy tale has a plethora of smoking innuendos, what would we expect to be part of our popular culture.
