Term Paper Prelim Cigarettes are smoked by over a billion of people around the world, about one and every three adults smoke cigarettes. In 2015 there is currently a great deal of information and research on them. It is understood how harmful they are for you including that there are dozens of illnesses and diseases linked to smoking. It is also understood that they contain thousands of chemicals, which are harmful to ones health. One of the main reasons that people continue to smoke even with the knowledge of these harmful chemicals is because of one of their addictive chemicals called nicotine. Many people become addicted to the nicotine inside the cigarettes and even though they know the consequences cannot stop. They are now many alternative …show more content…
Analog cigarettes combust and burn the tobacco to give off the nicotine that one craves. The electronic cigarettes only vaporize the substance called E-liquid to give the user the nicotine dosage. The e-cigarettes or “vapes” are powered with simple physics. There is a battery within a grounded tube connected to a top-connecting portion that contains a resistant coil, with cotton surrounding it, which is completely saturated with the E-liquid. As the circuit is closed the coil begins to heats up to a hot enough temperature to vaporize the liquid without causing combustion. The vapor is then inhaled like a …show more content…
Nicotine is in most of these liquids and is a very addictive chemical. There are also some liquids that contain Diacetyl, Acetyl Propionyl, and Acetoin in flavorings, which can be very harmful to humans. There is also not a lot of information known about the long-term affects of vaping, but people are questioning them, as they are still a very new product. As we move into the future we constantly create new things to make our lives better. Whether its healthier food, or healthier smoking things are always changing and we will always do research to find out the effects on our bodies. We now know how harmful analog cigarettes can be, but we are still questioning e-cigarettes. Even if they are not 100% healthy it is still a step up from the cancer sticks that millions inhale every
