1. Business idea 1.1 Idea generation
“Churrology” is a café, established to sell its renowned churros ice-cream sandwich and a wide variety of specialty coffee with 3D latte art. These days, most of people indulge themselves in decadent desserts or a cup of coffee at nearby cafés. This shows that there is a growing interest in comforting and lingering beverages.
The idea of making churros ice-cream sandwich came across when I see how well these Spanish doughnuts, which is more famous as churros are selling in Singapore. Initially, it was only sold at small carts around the Universal Studios Singapore. The business started to grow when some shops are specially opened to sell churros. There are many types of eateries selling different types of food been established, from casual fast food restaurants, hawker centres to formal and elegant dining restaurants.
Cafés are the most popular one these days. According to one of the food blogger websites, every month, there would be at least five new cafés are opened. These cafés are spread evenly all across the island.
Cafés provide a very limited services and offers considerable limited selection of menus. However, many people appreciate the beauty and skills of food which cafés offer to them. This is because, the food prepared in the cafés require better culinary skills compared to those prepared in a fast-food diners. Besides that, in cafés, choices of menu are usually prepared fresh and according to the customers’ orders.
In Churrology, there will be at least three people handling the kitchen. These people will be responsible in handling the churros as well as the ice-cream production. Besides that, there will be two waiters who will be clearing out plates from the dining table as well as serving the customers’ orders. In the front desk, there will be a barista who will be preparing the coffee and a cashier who will be in charge in the business daily

First of all, its main strength is the uniqueness of the product. Churrology unique product will be able to make the café stand out amongst all of the competitors. In addition to that, the location of the café. It does not have a lot of café will be another advantage for us as there are few competitors available.
However, for the weaknesses, there might be lack of capital to start up this business. This is because, establishing food and beverage business is not cheap. The electronic kitchen appliances will cause millions of dollars. Hence, a loan from bank to finance the business might be needed. Besides that, as a new start-up business, Churrology will have lack of reputation. It will need extra effort so that people are more brand conscious.
For the opportunities, there is a very high growing market for the business. The market for food and beverage business is massive and still growing due to the unlimited new innovation as well as growing customers demand. This ensures that the business will always have a room to improve and grow. Besides that, technology is another opportunity for the business. The business can establish a new application or websites for online gadget users and cater the need for the customers everywhere,
