I attended a church service on June 12th at the Church of Jesus christ of latter-day saints in West Jordan. The format of the service was held in multiple rooms and was very religiously professional, although I only attended the service in the sacrament room for an hour. Prior to the service I asked a friend of mine if I could attend with her, which made her jump for joy due to how I do not attend church often and she always has asked me to go with her. She told me that I would need to wear a dress, to show respect for their service. The service started with the sacrament that lasted for about an hour. The sacrament room was the biggest room in the church, and to me it looked a chapel. The seats were long and narrow, so that …show more content…
What I found very interesting was that even though he was the head of the church, you would not be able to distinguish him from any other well dressed man in the room. They then sang a hymn, and in total there would be three hymns song during the hour. The hymns included "Come, Come Ye Saints", "Carry On" and "The spirit of God". After this hymn someone from the bishops area started an opening prayer. It is vital that society, whether religious or not, that they accept each and every religion. Through the course of history, there have been so many wars because of various religions! The Lebanese civil war, crusades, Sudanese Civil Wars, Nigerian Civil war, thirty years war, eight years war, etc! Not to mention the war over Jerusalem in the middle east between the Muslims, Jews, and Christians! If society does not accept or even acknowledge various religions, not only will this have been our past, but this will be the future of the world. We need to accept that everyone does not believe in the same religion, which is completely okay! This allows for diversity and should lead to acceptance in the world. Sadly, as we see with ISIS, this is not ye the case. In most cases, like mine, individuals do not even understand the religion in which they disagree with. If we all study religions and try to understand them to our best ability I believe this would make for a better world with less violence and more love and
