Church Of Christ Research Paper

Before this lesson, I had never heard of The Church of Christ, Scientist. The Church of Christ, Scientist was founded by Mary Baker Eddy. She believed that Christianity and your health were one. As I began to research The Church of Christ, Scientist, I realized it is somewhat vague. They believe in science and health with key to the scriptures. The Church of Christ, Scientist have many tenets that summarize what they believe.

First, they take the inspired Word of the Bible as sufficient guide to eternal Life. They read the Bible and follow its words very closely. Not only do they read the bible but they compare the bible with science and make the two collide.

They acknowledge one supreme and infinite God. They believe in only one God. They believe He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. They believe His reflection is man and the universe. They believe God …show more content…
They believe the belief in sin is punished so long as the belief lasts. In other words, they believe sickness is a punishment for sin. They believe if you follow God’s word and do as you should, you will live a healthy life.

They acknowledge Jesus’ atonement as the evidence of divine, efficacious love, unfolding man’s unity with God through Christ Jesus the Way-shower. They believe you overcome sin and death through healing the sick. They believe man is saved through Christ, truth, life and love as demonstrated by the Galilean Prophet.

They acknowledge the crucifixion of Jesus and his resurrection. They believe life is divine Principle, Mind, Soul, and Spirit. Life is without being and without end. They believe all reality is in God and His creation. Everything he creates is good and He makes everything. They believe therefor; the only reality of sin, sickness or death is the awful fact that it seems real to
