“A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every monstrous creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other.” (Dickens) This quote by Charles Dickens means that behind every creature, there will be a furtive and cryptic background behind every fiend. With this, the finding of the chupacabra was a remarkable discovery in the Caribbean and an unbelievable recovery for past agriculturists. With these results, the chupacabra was sighted in various locations with immense evidence from DNA samples to puncture wounds, and complete loss of blood of livestock. In fact, this discovery could be mistaken for the alligator, or the Elmendorf, which have the characteristics of a chupacabra description. The chupacabra is mostly active during the night so it was hard for the media to conceal the real identity of the wretched beast. Early shepherds of the Puerto Rican territory were devastated when they discovered this atrocious beast. Through the years, there have been historical findings that date back to the 1990s (Thompson 17). Stories about the mysterious beast known as the "chupacabra" began surfacing in March of 1995 in Puerto Rico (AP Online). For instance, in countries where the fluent language is Spanish it would be referred to as èl chupacabrá (Discovery Communications). Various attacks on farm animals, which left them completely drained of blood, were blamed on the chupacabra within a year of sightings (Stephanie).
