Chunheng worked with me as a graduate research assistant at Mississippi State University from 2012 – 2014, conducting research on power system operations and optimizations projects. When he joined our research group in the beginning of his Ph.D. study in 2012, I, as a senior Ph.D student, supervised him in the topic of “systems of system SCUC” for a year and worked with him as co-author to publish this research paper.

When Chunheng joined our research group, I worked with him as a senior Ph.D. student and supervised him on assigned tasks on my research topic for a year. I found him a great teamplayer who can easily follow instructions and give me quick responses & constructive suggestions. He quickly grasped the essence and showed his deep understanding about both mathematics and power systems in short period of time, which made my job much easier. In addition, Chunheng also did a great job working individually. After his first year, he was able to start his own study on parallel SCUC topic independently. He successfully managed to report his study in a timely manner and make propose for the next step to our supervisor, Dr. Yong Fu, and the rest of our research group. Chunheng has superb interpersonal skills. He always thinks from others’ viewpoints to better communicate with other people. He also has the win-win spirit to benefit not only himself but also others. After my graduation, Chunheng and I kept our good relationship. We exchanged ideas and had many discussions on various research topics, and I myself benefited tremendously from his helpful suggestions and valuable …show more content…
