Interview Narrative The Iceman, an extremely skilled, could kill you in ten seconds, UFC fighter. Most people probably assume that this warrior is a not-so educated man who just cares about fighting and winning. But, the actual man that is inside that primed and ready to kill body will surprise you. This lethal weapon graduated from Cal Poly and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. This is the college story of the Mountain Dew infused Chuck Liddell and how he became the man he is today. Chuck Liddell grew up in Santa Barbara and attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Liddell was looking at several other west coast schools at the time and applied to all of them. Somehow all those other schools …show more content…
Liddell took Accounting because “numbers have always come easy to me,” Chuck states. Chuck’s school makes you state your major as a freshman and he had three majors on his mind: P.E, Accounting, and Construction. The thought of changing to construction happened later in college when he used to do construction during summers.
Chuck’s first year of school was quite chaotic as he took football and wrestling. Chuck didn’t have much free time. As soon as he was finished with football, wrestling then started, and right after wrestling, football season started once more. Chuck definitely had to compose a decision on what to stick with in the end because it was a little bit too much for him. He says “I think I made the right decision with what I ended up doing.” While in college, Chuck said, that he was a “slacker” and procrastinated a little bit too often. When asked if he could go back and change something he did while in college, he said he would’ve liked to worry more about grades. Chuck scored a 3.1 in the end, but he was just pleased that he graduated. In one of Liddell’s classes, he was tutoring two wrestlers, but received a ‘C’ in that class because he didn’t completely do all of the homework in his classes. Chuck claims that it didn’t really matter that much back then. Chuck’s biggest trouble back in college was being able to balance working out, competing, and academics. Chuck spent a plethora of all-nighters
