I couldn’t hear anything over my mom screaming that she was going to die in my ear, but the flashing of the camera blinded me. But in the end we all survived.

Just because of that she let us run wild for the whole practice, we came up with a cheer about lazy dolphins. We ate cake (for some reason someone brought cake) it was really sweet but still good. The gym as always smelled like sweat. All anyone could hear was Taylor, Jacy and I screaming as we tried to put Taylor in the basketball hoop. (We wanted to know if it would be a good chair) The coach said that we looked like idiots especially when i tripped over a basketball and feel of the hard gym floor. Even though we didn’t get to go to the tournament we still made a lot of good memories that

I was naive to the reality of death and part of me believed that death only occurred in movies to make them more suspenseful and emotional, but then again, I was only around 7 or 8 years old.
