Chuck was born July 5, 1940. When Chuck was younger, he had dyslexia, which is a general term for disorders that involve difficulty in learning to read or interpret, words, letters, and other symbols, but that do not affect general intelligence. Everyone would make fun of him. His teachers said he was lazy in class, but that was from his dyslexia. Also when he was about 11 years old his father died. Another thing he suffered from was face blindness, which is and inability to recognize the faces of familiar people, typically as a result of damage to the brain. After that he found a way for him to still keep creating and making portraits. Since he is paralyzed, he is in a wheelchair. So the way he still paints is by rotating and moving the painting up and down so he can still paint on his 9ft painting.
The reason why Chuck Close is important to people, especially me, is because he never quit what he loved to do, and that is so inspiring.
