Have you have ever provided or received a nickname? Nicknames are an interesting way to call people. Over the years, I have given and collected a few nicknames. I was once designated the title “chubby cheeks.” The reason behind this name is pretty obvious, my cheeks were quite immense. Even though I wasn't very fond of nicknames at the time I found this one particularly funny. This was just the start of one of the many humorous nicknames I acquired.
“Chubby Cheeks” is what they called me. When I was in the first or second grade, I was appointed the name. The explanation behind this nickname is because of how large my cheeks were. At the time my cheeks were compared to a chipmunk’s. It all started with one of my friends that eventually spread

What would you do if you were the only person in your class who was not allowed to wear overalls? You’re the odd ball and the classic bandwagon argument of “everyone else is wearing them!” does not work, and your mother just does not seem like she’s going to change her mind anytime soon. Realism, family having your back, and dysfunctional systems are connections I made from Stickup Kid to The Wire. The Wire uses a realistic approach where they tell real stories that have happened. Also, The Wire has characters that are ordinary citizens from Baltimore. For example, in The Wire, they chose to film in Baltimore, and they use characters that represent the police and criminals of Baltimore. Thus, The Wire radiates realism because the show, characters, plot, and setting all represent the struggles and stories of Baltimore.…

“Ginger” and “little red” and “copper head” and the ever so famous “carrot top” were just a few of many nicknames that once taunted my childhood. It seemed to be that I did not have a name, but rather I was just “the redhead.” Always sticking out like a sore thumb, I was surrounded by a family of dark brown hair and undoubtedly seemed to be the only child in the class with the uncommon genes of fiery red hair, a galaxy of freckles that covered my body, and the fairest of skin that would burn at the slightest of interaction with the sun. As a result of the little resemblance I share with my family, people often mistaken me for someone else’s child or demanded an explanation.…
