Chronological Resume Analysis

“Chronological resumes present information grouped by work and education over time and functional resumes; present the information in terms of key skills” (Cardon, 2016). The chronological resume is more typically used by job seekers. It is easy for the recruiters to see your recent experience it list your career progression from your job titles, job responsibilities along with related accomplishments. However if you are switching careers or re-entering the workforce the chronological resume is not the format you want to use. The functional resume is useful for people who have gaps in their work history, frequently job changes or looking to transition into careers. The recruiters focus more on workable acquired skills that are transferable.
