REPORTER: The reporter/aunt (Christy) called to report Neglect. According to Christy, Cynthia (biological mother) left the children with her, and she moved to Birmingham, Alabama in March. Cynthia was supposed to enroll the children in school, but she didn’t; the reporter and Pearlene were waiting to see if mom was going to take the children back with her or not. The children missed the 1st day of school, due to the aunt (Christy) and Pearlene (maternal grandmother) enrolling them in school because Cynthia did not. Christy said Cynthia (mother) was receiving food stamps for the children in Birmingham, Alabama, but the children were living her in MS; Cynthia didn’t purchase any food for the children, and she didn’t give Pearlene anything. The reporter said Pearlene will be receiving food stamps for the children next month (November). The reporter said, since the children have been taken off of Cynthia’s food stamps, now she is trying to come and get the children. Per the State of Alabama, Cynthia has to show proof that the children live with her or she could go to jail, according to Christy. The mother’s boyfriend (unknown) tried to fight the 16 year old (Laavaous). The boyfriend was all in Laavous’ face and he told her “he would whoop her ass”. Also, the boyfriend is doing drugs (weed/marijuana) around the children. It is unknown if Cynthia is doing drugs, but the reporter said she looks bad. The reporter said Cynthia came and picked up the children (unknown when), and they stayed with her for 1 week, while missing a week of school. The reporter said there is mental abuse going on; Cynthia leaves the children home by themselves and the have to wait until she comes to eat.
