No, Christopher is not capable of loving someone else. It seems that he is more concerned with himself. Throughout the book, there has not been a time where Christopher has sacrificed himself for the sake of others, rather he always carry out actions that benefits himself. For example, when Christopher got to London and started living with his mother, his A level testing had to be cancelled to next year because his mother couldn’t take him to school (250). Instead of being considerate and dealing with it, Christopher throws a tantrum which is problematic and tiring for his mother.
