One Christopher's systems is when he is on the bus if he sees .,.yellow or brown cars it will be a bad day but if he sees red cars it will be a good day. “i looked out the window in the dining room to count the cars in the street to see if it would be a Quite good day or a good day or super good day or a black day, it wasn't like being on the school bus because you could look out the window for as long as you wanted and see as many cars as you wanted.” This makes Christopher independent because usually people with asperger's need a routine and there parents will makes these routines, but in christopher's case he is making the routines and systems and this proves that he is independent and intelligent for making such complex and interesting systems. likes to decide if it's a good day be for the day starts so he has some type of bassline or routine before he has to start into the day. Christopher is independent because he wants to be an astronaut and astronauts have to be independent because you have to be all by yourself and as Christopher says “I think i would make a very good astronaut to be an astronaut you have to be intelligent and i am intelligent.” () “You also have to like being on your own in a tiny spacecraft thousands and thousands miles away from the earth's surface and not panic or get claustrophobia or homesick or insane.” Christopher states himself that his is individualistic and being individualistic makes him naturally independent and he likes to do things on his own and do things himself and his own way and this is a good trait to have so when the time comes he can make decisions for himself for the better that do not hinder him but help him. In the book it always infers how christopher is wise and like to bend the rules without even knowing that he is doing it. He is very tricky and logical and being very gifted in mathematics he has to be logical
