In my earlier years, I was largely inspired by Christopher McCandless, or known by his moniker as Alexander Supertramp. His story portrayed in the book and the movie Into the Wild speaks volume to me. It shaped my perception of living as I find myself going through phases in life. A similar figure that inspire me is Henry David Thoreau. In his book, Walden, he wrote, “most of the luxuries and many of the so-called comforts of life are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind.” He also wrote, “rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.” The quote has been my motto ever since.
