Christopher Columbus was the first person to discover what we now know as South America. He was born in Genoa in 1451. Christopher was a seaman, who traveled around the Mediterranean Sea countless times. He worked with sailors who strongly believed the world was flat. He was curious, and wanted to find out for himself. Christopher Columbus was a strong Christian, who loved the LORD and put Him first. It was his faith in God and his deeply held belief that the earth was indeed round that kept him sailing and discovering even when everyone around him doubted his abilities.
