Hero or Zero?
Was Columbus a hero or was he a just a plain jerk? In my opinion I think Christopher Columbus was just a jerk. All Columbus did was walk onto land that already belonged to Native Americans and started to act like it was all his. He also enslaved the natives and made them work on their own land.
In elementary school we learned that “In 1942 Columbus sailed the ocean blue.” They told us that Christopher discovered America. In school they also said that he was a nice man and even helped the natives. The teachers and textbooks said that he was a hero.
I now know that when Columbus landed on America he thought that he was somewhere in the Indies and that's why he called the natives indians. Also Columbus didn't even discover America
