Christopher Columbus was a famous Italian navigator who opened up the way to the Americas. He did not discover America, although we assume him as a hero, being that without him, we may have not known that America existed. Personally, I don’t believe he should be celebrated, since he is the cause of slavery of Native Americans. If it weren’t for Christopher Columbus, there would have not been slavery in America at all. Three ways he can be considered a villain, owing to the procedure with Native Americans which was punishments forcing various slaves to Catholicism, and he transmitted numerous diseases.
