Boone’s commitment for Christopher was a major asset to Christopher’s success. Instead of writing letters to Christopher each week, Mr. Boone was almost always beside Christopher’s side whenever he needed assistance or got into trouble. When Christopher started having trust issues with his father, there was never a doubt that Mr. Boone would not stop trying to make amends with Christopher. Mrs. Boone’s commitment to Christopher is incomparable to Mr. Boone’s since she was the one who left Christopher because “[She] was not a very good mother... [She was] not like [his] father. [His] father is a much more pacient person… that’s not the way I am”.(106) Mrs. Boone had left Christopher because she couldn’t handle his behavioral patterns and she wasn’t listening to Mr. Boone on being more patient and gentle. Thus, a gap was created and Mrs. Boone started spending more time alone with Roger who eventually brought her to London. Mr. Boone prevented Mrs. Boone from entering their house because he knew Christopher would start misbehaving due to realization of his mother previously leaving them because of his condition. His love for his son is undeniably greater since he was catering to Christopher’s daily needs . Mr. Boone has carried an encumbrance for Christopher ever since his mother left. His father had directed him away from finding who killed him because he was the one who murdered the dog. If Christopher came to the conclusion of Mr. Boone killing Wellington, he would not have found a place to live since his mother was supposedly dead, he would have been stranded with no place to live. However, Mr. Boone made a smart decision to confess that he murdered the dog when Christopher found the letters because Christopher started to uncover each of his father’s white lies. Mrs. Boone prevented Christopher from accomplishing his goals because she did not think he was ready for A-Level mathematics and she wanted to postpone his exams for a year.
