personally say, they did things to protect Christopher. The mother’s whole reasoning for
running away was that she didn’t think she could help raise Christopher, considering she
had literal breakdowns in front of him. “Please, Christopher. Don’t give me any hassle
right now, OK?” (Page 227) This, only being a small quote, shows how easily she is for
her to break just from Christopher asking questions. Showing that she can’t control when
she has a breakdown, so that’s the reason she ran away. As messed up as it may be, in her
eyes, this was for everybody’s own good.
