Christo and Jeanne Claude's were American's. They are environmental sculptures, noted for their contentious outdoor sculptures and enormous displays of fabrics and plastics. Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s huge, usually outdoor sculptures are provisional and require hundreds of subordinates in their construction. Their work look at the way viewers see them, including those who don't visit museums, these works force viewers to address questions concerning the nature of art. As we take a look at the artwork created by Christo and Jeanne-Claude we can see the pink color of the shiny fabric it seems like the center most point of attraction, as it catches the viewers eyes by its tint color and creates an illusion of a very realistic pink island. If we view from the air, we can see that there is a good contrast with the blue and green of the environment and seems like a two-dimensional artwork. There is a great variation between each island, as some seem close to each other , some too far. We can see the horizontal lines that appear on the fabric and the waves of the sea that's creating movement. This artwork was made in Miami which is a very colorful place, the island is adding beauty and contrast to the artwork. The idea behind creating the artwork is to make people aware of the area, their surroundings as many people never take a look at art so the outdoor artworks are created. The artwork creates movement as it attracts the viewers and encourages them to know about it. We can see the pink fabric that creates unity/harmony with the tropical vegetation of the Verdant Islands, the color of the Miami sky, all gives a complete balance to the artwork.
