While Christmas is a great time to celebrate with your family and loved ones and show one another how much you appreciate them, the bills that follow Christmas can put a damper on those first few months of the year. That means the more money a person or household can save during Christmas the less they will need to spend during Christmas.

In this article, we want to give you some money saving tips to help you conserve that festive attitude.

Just remember, this is a holiday to reach out to others, and the more you save money the more you can do that.

Limit Your List

Along with not self indulging by buying that new dress or those new golf clubs, select those people for whom you will buy gifts. You may want to show your best friend’s Aunt Sally how much you appreciate her, but she will appreciate a card.

Of course, speaking of Aunt Sally, you may want to make a list of people you intend to buy gifts for, people whom you will buy greeting cards for, and those you may just call or send a text or email greeting card to.

While the art of letter writing is all buy extinct, people will also appreciate receiving a letter in the mail from you. The thought that you took the time to writer the letter, print it out, put it in an envelope, spend money on a stamp, and put in the mail will show them how much you value them.

It’s a holiday we should remember as an experience, of love and closeness, not stress and anxiety. It should be a time to give thanks for all the blessings we have received throughout the year. I am sure Christmas means something different to different people; however, I think we can all agree that in the end our family is what matters.
