In the story Christmas Hunt by Borden Deal the author’s theme is having patience about something's because they might not happen right. At the beginning of the story, it says that Tom is trying to ask his father about Christmas Day Hunting. What happens is, Tom’s father says that he is too young to go hunting. Tom was not happy with that because he thought he was old enough, so he starting to get impatient. As the story moves on, it says that Tom has a dream about hunting, and how he was able to shoot a couple birds with his bird dog. At the end of his dream, when he got home from hunting his father would be proud. When Tom woke up from that dream he thought he could make it come true. Since Tom was very impatient he didn't even bother to ask
