Christina Rossetti was a very famous poet. One of her best poems is Goblin Market. I think people still talk about her today because of her success. Her life,career,and poem’s are very interesting. In my opinion Christina was one of the best poets in her time period. If Christina Rossetti was still alive today, then she would probably be walking on the red carpet for all of her accomplishments. There are many poets out there who probably based their careers off of her works. If I were a poet than I would base my poems off of her writings. Christina Rossetti had a very interesting life. Christina Rossetti was born in London on December 5th 1830. (Collins 484). I have always wondered what it would be like to be a woman in that time period.

The Goblin Market is one of those writings that someone could read over and over again and that is because she wrote “Goblin Market” in an exciting, fast paced that makes the poem particularly effective when read aloud (collins 484) To me that makes a poem very interesting. I think that she wrote all of her poems with a heartfelt meaning behind them, but then again many poets and authors write with a heartfelt meaning or something that has happened in their life if I were to write a story or a poem I would write about something that had happened to me then build on it to make it more interesting cause I will admit my life is pretty boring at times other times it is like a thrill ride or a wild roller coaster. Her first verses were written to her mother on April 27th, 1842 (biography.com editores1). Her first published poems were the seven she contributed in 1850 to the Pre-Raphaelite magazine the germ under the pseudonym Ellan Alleyenex (biography.com editores1). One of my favorite lines from the poem is, “ He sits among swine and dreams of home, a place of plenty good treatment (escohar1). We don't hear his request for money (escohar1).
