Christianity and Buddhism are two religions that are very similar, yet very unique in their own ways. These religions are two of the most popular and most practiced in the world. This is because they are not super challenging to follow and anyone can be a believer. Christianity and Buddhism are similar in that they are both orally originated, and have a moral code. These religions differ by the origin, the deity they worship, and the religion’s antagonist.

Most people recognize Jesus and assume he is the main “character”, but Christianity is focused on Christ and his sacrifice and resurrection. According to the bible, “Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land."
This is a prime example in the bible where it is talking about having one God and only worshipping one God. God is the main and truly only focus in the religion of Christianity. Jesus came down onto earth to fulfil the duties asked of him by God. Buddhism is quite unique when talking about the deity that is worshipped. It truly depends on the way the question is asked. Most people who practice Buddhism are “non-theist”, which simply means that believing in a God is truly not the point. This is a very broad question for the practice of Buddhism. There are scriptures that talk about gods and spiritual creatures but it is not the focus of the
